Two high school seniors from Carlisle and Indianola are the first recipients of the new Peoples Bank Employee Scholarship: Nate Norton and David O’Meara.

The $500 award will be given to the child of a Peoples Bank employee. This is in addition to the $1,000 scholarship Peoples Bank awards to graduating seniors in each Indianola, Carlisle, Southeast Warren, Pleasantville, and Seymour districts.

“We’re a community bank, which means that we have a responsibility to our entire community—including our employees,” said Peoples Bank President Kevin Halterman.

Nate graduated from Carlisle High School and is the son of Janie and Tim Norton. Janie is the Carlisle Branch Manager.

“As an employee of Peoples Bank, I greatly appreciate the support to my family and Nate's continuing education,” said Janie Norton. “It feels amazing to be a part of an organization that cares so much for its employees and their families. Thank you for the kind gesture.”

David graduated from Indianola High School and is the son of Pat and Vandy O’Meara. Pat is the Vice President of Loans.

“We are grateful to Peoples Bank for the ongoing support of its employees and their families in addition to the communities served,” said Pat and Vandy O’Meara. “For our son, David, to receive an inaugural scholarship is truly a blessing.”
